This is a very good piece, Terry. It reminded me a lot of an idea I first came across when reading Malcolm X's autobiography - the idea of 'conking' hair, of bleaching African American hair to remove its naps and straighten it as a way to fit in and, hopefully, feel a little less hatred on the streets.

I haven't heard of Reservation Dogs, but it sounds interesting!
