Thanks so much Mira! I’m also a big admirer of As Good As It Gets, and its director James L. Brooks. He’s made nothing but quality cinema - Broadcast News is brilliant, As Good as It Gets is great, I think Spanglish is severely underrated and Terms of Endearment is good also (though I owe that one a revisit!).

Nicholson is absolutely one of the greats of acting. The way that he pivoted his career from his 60s and 70s performances into his 2000s work is emblematic of his versatility, as is the fact that he was in this and The Departed within a few years of one another! I recently came around to The Witches of Eastwick (again, long overdue) and adored him there. He’s one of those actors where him being in a film makes it worthy of my time in and of itself! I miss his appearances in film already, but I’m glad he’s resting in retirement too.
