A poem.
Author’s Note — I am currently in an odd position with the poetry. With art generally. It is either time for an indefinite pause or for an overhaul stylistically. My life has been changing, and my outlook has, too.
My inspirations remain the same, and maybe that’ll be evident here. This piece in particular is influenced by Archy Marshall’s A New Place 2 Drown album. But I’m self-releasing this specific poem as it was more of a freestyle, written for my self expression as opposed to being written for a kind of mutual expression, that releasing a more relatable or universal emotion for others to connect to. I wrote selfishly tonight, so the final product may be inaccessible.
Either way, thank you for reading.
I hope that this odd period of lacking inspiration and feeling artistically lost passes me by,
But if it doesn’t, blessings to all of you.
Don’t tell me all of your stories
I can’t bear to hear another now.
My heart has drifted out to see,
I’d save it if I just knew how.
Uncertainty and doubt devour all within their path,
Logic still alludes me, so I’ll never do the math,
