Joe Hill did write the short story, yes. But I was explaining that the film contains a lot of ideas seen in Stephen King’s work, too. I had actually forgotten that Hill was King’s son - which makes that influence make much more sense - but nowhere did I say that King had written or been directly involved in The Black Phone at all
