I think that Woods bravery in the story and his fight to make Biko's words heard is of course admirable! I just felt that the film skewed that by turning his part of the film into something so accessible that the politics became unimportant. It felt quite cartoonish to me, far divorced from the uncomfortable realities and more like a fun adventure thriller as Woods flies around at the last moment trying to prepare his escape from South Africa. The emphasis wasn't on the danger, more so the thrills themselves.
Maybe if I read the book and return to this film, I'll feel different about it though! It's happened before!
